About the Resort

For the 2010/11 ski season, there is a new hydro power solution planned to power the resorts many facilities - the Fitzsimmons Creek Hydro project. Already seen in the 2009/10 ski season was of course the recent Winter Olympics and Paralympics, the introduction of GPS tracking of children at the resort's ski school and the opening of the Scandinave Spa at Lost Lake Park.

Excellent and stunning scenery sets the bar high for other resorts in North America with the resort's two mountains - Whistler and Blackcomb. There are a number of choices for accommodation in the main resort, Whistler Village, and smaller villages which offer a quieter base should that be sought after - Upper Village and Creekside. Skiing for intermediate level and expert level skiers is truly a dream whilst there is also provision for beginners as well - just not as comprehensive and the slopes for such skiers can suffer from rainfall. Restaurants are large and very good but can suffer from severe lunchtime overcrowding.
