About the Resort

New investment for the 2009/10 ski season saw the replacement of the Kasereck chair lift on Pengelstein with a new eight-pack lift. The red run, Asten, from Hahnenkamm became an easier blue run to the valley. A new 5 star hotel, the Kitzbühel Royal Spa, opened at Jochberg with its own ski lift. For the 2010/11 ski season, further investment sees the grand opening of a 10 seater gondola and eight-seat chair replacing the the Maierl chairs. This will improve the links from Kirchberg substantially.

There are a wide variety of activities in this resort with a truly inspiring collection of places to eat out and things to do off the slopes. One thing to note also is that there is a main line railway station in the town so for any of the party who are not skiers, then excursions out to other towns within Austria should be easily possible - for example, to Salzburg. Nightlife is also well catered for. Great for intermediate skiers, people of other levels should review their options here carefully, particularly starting out beginners.
