About the Resort

New investment for the 2009/10 ski season saw the introduction of a six-pack, to replace the first part of the Marmottes gondola, and a new blue run in this area. The second stage of the Pic Blanc gondola also received improvement works. A new mountain restaurant also opened.

Alpe d'Huez is simply one of the best places for beginners to experience their first time skiing due to the large number of genuinely suitable green slopes above the main village of Alpe d'Huez. Stay is also possible in other outlying villages including Auris-en-Oisans, Villard-Reculas, Oz-en-Oisans and Vaujany where accommodation may be a bit cheaper although there are generally good lift links across the whole ski region. Skiing for intermediate and advanced users is also well catered for including the longest black run (at least in the top half!) in the Alpes - the Sarenne run, at 16km in length.
