Exclusive skiing in Sainte Foy

If you fancy a ski holiday somewhere a little more exclusive, then the Sainte Foy resort in the French Alps could be right up your street. Saite Foy is sometimes called the jewel in the crown of the Tarantaise ski area, and it is easy to see why. It’s relatively uncrowded, and the snow is immaculate, with plenty of different runs to suit skiers of all ability levels, making it a great place for a luxurious family ski holiday.

There are no hotels in Sainte Foy, and the only accommodation available comes in the form of some very high-end chalets. This ensures a certain amount of exclusivity and privacy, and you won’t have to wait for hours in queues to get onto the slopes. It also means that the runs are always in tip-top condition, and you can ski to your heart’s content without bumping into a soul for hours on end. There are around ten long blue runs which reach from the summit to the base of the mountain, as well as six or seven fast red runs for more advanced skiers. There are also plenty of green runs for beginners, and three separate nursery slopes for the kids. This, combined with the lack of crowds and non-intimidating atmosphere, make it a perfect place to take the kids to learn how to ski.

Recently, Sainte Foy has undergone a massive expansion of its ski lift facilities, which has opened up a wealth of new blue and green runs on the Western side of the mountain. Sainte Foy is surrounded by some of the most famous ski resorts in the world, including Val d’Isere, Les Arcs, and Tignes, all of which are less than twenty minutes away by car. The standard ski pass includes a two day pass to all of these areas, which gives the skier a huge variety of runs to choose from. However, the runs in Sainte Foy are so quiet and well kept that you would be forgiven for staying in the area for the duration of your holiday.

Most large tour operators tend to give Sainte Foy a miss due to the high price of accommodation in the area, so if you want to enjoy a true connoisseur’s skiing experience, you will have to go with a specialist operator such as Alpine Elements, who offer some great web-only ski deals that incorporate travel, accommodation, and ski passes.
