About the Resort
This is a classic British destination in a resort which offers a great deal to any keen skier, there is a great deal of lift served off-piste and the pistes themselves are plentiful enough to provide sure footed intermediates with many kilometres of skiing every day. The area is also shared with Tignes and has recently enjoyed a lot of spending on new lifts.
For beginners this resort should come with a slight health warning in that some of the runs are seemingly deliberately graded incorrectly in order to get some beginners to go there, so caution should be exercised on the green and blue runs. This is not really a resort for those on a budget either, as this is fast becoming one of the most expensive resorts in the entire Alps mountain range.

Tour Operators
"Considered by many to be the world's premier ski resort, Val d'Is?re is hard to fault, offering some of the best skiing anywhere together with exciting and lively apr?s ski. The attractive village dates back to the 13th century and still retains much of its original Savoyarde charm. The Espace Killy is undoubtedly one of the greatest ski areas with 97 ski lifts whisking you in all directions up to heights of over 3500m, including the Le Fornet glacier with guaranteed snow." - Crystal Ski
"Part of the vast Espace Killy ski region, lively Val d'Isere and neighbouring La Daille share an unparalleled, high-altitude ski area with an excellent snow record. This is the undisputed capital of modern alpine skiing, as traditionally the whole European season kicks off here in early December with the first World Cup Downhill - the 'Premiere Neige'. Val d'Isere shares 300km of linked skiing with nearby Tignes, served by 97 lifts. But even these statistics fail to do justice to the huge variety of terrain in this famous ski area."- Thomson Ski
